Sonia Among Top 10 Powerful People in World

Washington, Nov 4 (IANS) India's ruling Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is among the top 10 most powerful people in the world, according to Forbes magazine which placed Chinese President Hu Jintao on the top of the list.

Sonia, who is ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (18th), comes in ninth on the list of World's Most Powerful People released Wednesday.

The other Indians who made it to the list are telecom mogul Sunil Mittal (44th) and industrialist Ratan Tata (61st).

Chinese President Hu Jintao has been named the most powerful person, ahead of US President Barack Obama, who topped last year's rankings.

According to the magazine, the list comprises "the 68 who matter" of the 6.8 billion people on the planet.

The Forbes 2010 list contains heads of state, major religious figures and entrepreneurs. Forbes said they were chosen "because, in various ways, they bend the world to their will".

The top 10 also included Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud (3rd), Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin (4th), Pope Benedict XVI (5th), German Chancellor Angela Merkel (6th), British Prime Minister David Cameron (7th) and chairman of the US Federal Reserve Ben Bernanke (8th).

    Most powerfull in- supporting the corruption among the party leaders, most powerfull in protecting the corrupt leaders, most powerfull in making money for the party funds , most powerfull in hushing up things, most powerfull in diverting the people from corruption by blaming the opposition by flase allegations,most powerfull to bring up her son in politics, really a powerfull women for wrong reasons.

    While so much corruption is rooted among the congress to the extent of looting the martyres families, looting the public wealth in the name of CWG, looting to the extent of 20000 -60000 crores of money through 2G scams,she must be very powerfull, to plan & effieciently rob of this magnitude,people who support her must be appreciated for their loyalty!!!! When they are commenting on opposition of corruption in public,they support the robbers openly!!

    Congrats to Sonia. But she need to clean up the UPA Government as number of individuals within the congress and coalition are involved in number of Scams and are under the scanner. If she is genuinely honest then she should take immediate action on the Culprits who are hanging around in UPA. If required she should opt to dissolve the parliament and seek a fresh mandate instead of living amidst the Corrupt and Nepotic political atmosphere.Sonia can be No.1 among the Powerful People in the World, provided she is impartial in her Leadership and serve the great people of India.May God Bless Sonia and grant her true wisdom.

    Even world recognized that soniaji is more powerful than manmohan singh...manmohan singh is our prime minister and chairman of planning commission ,but soniaji is chairperson of congress and chairperson of national advisory council..who should have been more powerful?? she should have been occupied PM - INDIA position till now so she would have be 1st Postion in World jai ho Soniaji
