Mangaluru: Leopard sighted within Someshwar town limits

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Nov 1: After a local saw a leopard moving near Kumpala, Pilaru Palla within Someshwar town municipal limits, a sense of fear has gripped the town.

A local, identified as Shivaraj Ponnuswamy from Kumpala Pilaru Palla was going to the residence of his daughter from his house at about 9.30 pm when he reportedly saw a leopard crossing the road and entering bushes near his home.

Initially, Shivaraj guessed that it could be a wildcat. However, after seeing its long tail and colour, he concluded that it was a small-sized leopard. It is said that the paw marks of the animals were partially erased as the area received rainfall on that night. Some insist that it could be only a leopard while a few believe it could be a wildcat.

The forest officials however said they have not received any report about the existence of leopards in the area.

"Those who are going to beach for relaxation in the evening, please return back before 5" Now a days sitting at beach side is not advisable as moral police are taking a rounds and checking for some unauthorized partners in action ! By the way it may be the same Leopord which was noticed in Kapitanio from there it must have taken a short cut to reach Ullall, Thokkottu and further ahead to check Someshwar beach.

Those who are going to beach for relaxation in the evening, please return back before 5. Now day is small and because of clouds everyday evening, evenings look more like ight. MCC should alert the people. When the cage will reach to someshwar from Maroli god alone knows. So people, your safety is in your hands.
