Mangaluru: Leadership training held for St Agnes PU College’s student council

Mangaluru, Nov 1: St Agnes PU College, Mangaluru conducted a ‘Leadership Training’ on October 30 to all student leaders of I and II PUC. The members of student cabinet, all class representatives and assistant class representatives were actively participated in this event. Elson D'Souza, an assistant professor of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was the resource person and students were enlightened with the creative thinking and conflict management skills to be a role model as a leader.

A brief description on how to become successful and achieve a goal was delivered. The speaker threw light on the differences between a leader and a boss. Topics like decision making was discussed. Real life situations and activities were also identified as examples to the topics discussed so that it is easily pertained by the students.

A few amusing games were conducted where the students were divided into groups of four. Action songs were taught to the students in order to keep the flame of enthusiasm burning high.

The session ended with the speaker motivating the students to read more motivational story, to never give up in life and detach the word ‘I CAN'T’ with ‘I CAN’ and he wished all the students good luck for all the future endeavours.

The resource person was welcomed and introduced to the gathering by Carol Lobo, department of mathematics. The student secretary Alice Lobo proposed vote of thanks.
