Mangaluru, Nov 1: Kannada Rajyotsava the festival of Karnataka is celebrated on November 1, every year to commemorate the birth of state Karnataka. It is a day when the state rejoices in the true spirit of Kannada language. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language- speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka.

With different cultures and regions what is truly remarkable about Karnataka Rajyotsava is it's a celebration of unity and solidarity. Initially starting off as a movement Aluru Venkata Rao dreamt of the creation of the state of Karnataka in 1905.

Every year this day is acknowledged with great zeal and exuberance withcommunity events, concerts and citizens donning the colours of the flag of Karnataka red and yellow.

St Agnes CBSE School celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm. The students of the school showcased their talent and exhibited their love towards their beloved state Karnataka by enthusiastically participating in different competitions which were conducted virtually for grade 1-5 and offline programme was organised for the students.

The students were able to spread the fragrance of Kannada language with Lighting the lamp, prayer, a spectacular welcome dance, significance of the day and song under the guidance of teachers Dora and Chandrika who were the in charge of this event.

The management, the administrator, the principal and the staff congratulate the winners for their best efforts. Let us remember the golden heritage of our state and feel proud to be a part of Karnataka. May the spirit of Karnataka stay in the core of your heart.
