It was an amalgamation of fun loving multi-cultural and multi-lingual audience who arrived from all corners of the UAE and nearby Gulf countries just to be part of this wonderful event and to enjoy in the company of friends, family and acquaintances.
It was a perfect day, the beautiful ambience of the picturesque location of the Al Jazira Resort complimented by great weather. Though it was quite warm the spectators braved it and enjoyed to the hilt. Kids were kept engaged throughout the day with games.
The day’s events commenced around 10 am with Goan Band 'Sky High' giving a jumpstart with their entertaining music to suit the mood of the audience.
Then it was the turn for the most sought-after master of ceremonies, the vibrant Mahesh Prabhu who flew in especially for the occasion from Bahrain and UAE’s own vivacious Beena to take centre stage to conduct the day’s proceedings. Their top class compering was interspersed with wit and humour which raised the level of excitement among the audience.
The welcome speech was delivered by Emirates Paradela’s president Harold Lobo who highlighted the achievements of Emirates Paradela Foundation.
A moment of silence was observed for the departed souls of Emirates Paradela’s senior member Loy Moras who passed away recently and also Suchita Moras – the ever-popular MC who had made a lasting impact on Paradela’s past programmes.
As soon as the formal inaugural ceremony got over the team games were announced and the audience were on their toes participating enthusiastically with competitive, sportsman spirit. It was carnival atmosphere all over, with the audience mingling and enjoying every moment of it. Young and old, every person's taste was catered to.
Goa’s famous band “The Skyhigh” stamped their presence with foot-tapping numbers which prompted the audience to dance to their hearts' content. They performed songs in English, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi and in other languages, much to everyone's delight.
The highlight of the day was the captivating dance performances by the Latino Dancers who had the audience spellbound with their magical grace and flexibility.
The scintillating dances performed by Bollywood’s famous dancers added glamour to the occasion. The dances, which proved to be the surprise element of the event, were heartily applauded by the crowd.
The high point of the programme was the outstanding performance by Harshida of Indian Idol fame who conquered the hearts of the young and the old with her mellifluous voice. Her peppy numbers delighted the audience to no end, leaving them asking for more. It was an excellent opportunity for her to impress her fans, which she managed to do with ease.
There were loads of attractive prizes to grab, by means of spot prizes, novelty dances, competitions, housie-housie etc, with plenty of giveaways for all.
The sponsors, well-wishers and donors who have been the back bone of the event with their charitable activities, were honoured by Emirates Paradela Foundation for their unstinted support.
The icing on the cake was the final session which saw some famous baila numbers performed by the “SkyHigh” band who displayed their skills brilliantly with invigorating numbers adding much energy to the already ecstatic crowd.
The hardwork and effort put in by Emirates Paradela members were praiseworthy. Their co-ordination and unity was evident by their disciplined team effort. The continuity and smooth handling of the mammoth crowd showed their calibre and proved once again why Emirates Paradelas are labeled the No 1 outfit in the Emirates.
