Udupi: Kannada Rajyothsava celebrated at Gurukula Public School

Udupi, Nov 2: The 66th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated at Gurukula Public School, Vakwady Koteshwara on November 1.

Subhaschandra Shetty K, president, Bhandya Educational Trust joint executive hoisted the flag and offered floral salutation to the picture of Kannadambe.

Speaking on the occasion Subhaschandra Shetty K said, "Kannada is not just a language. it has in itself culture, art, literature, and everything. Being Kannadigas we should speak in Kannada and uphold the language. Thus we should work towards the betterment of our land" he said.

Mohan K, principal, Gurukula Public School and Arun D'Silva, principal, Gurukula PU College also offered floral salutation to Kannadambe and wished the good will on the occasion to the students.

Various entertainment programmes were performed by the students of school and college on the occasion. Vishala Shetty, Kannada teacher spoke on the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava.

Raghavendra Ammuje, Kannada teacher compered the programme. Ravi Shankar welcomed the gathering, Shailaja rendered vote of thanks.

Staff and students were present on the occasion.
