Mangaluru, Nov 4: The first state level Kickboxing Championship-2021 was organised by the Karate Kickboxing Sports Association on October 31, 2021 at Sports Pavilion, University of Mysore, Mysuru. Affiliated by Wako India Kickboxing Federation and recognised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India.

The student of St Agnes School Pavni Vijaya from grade VII A has secured Gold in the Events Light Contact and Point Fight under weight-37 KG Category Older Cadets (13,14,15) girls.
Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate mixed with boxing. Japanese kickboxing originated in the late 1950’s with competitions held since then.

The term Kickboxing (kikkubokushingu) can be used in a narrow and in broad sense. The narrow use is restricted to the styles that self-identify as kickboxing, In the wider sense, it includes all stand-up combat sports that allow both punching and kicking.

The hard work by Pavani shows her dedication and winning has brought laurels to the school.

The management, administrator, principal and staff congratulate the winner for the best efforts.
