Udupi, Nov 4: Minister for state for Agriculture and farmer's welfare Shobha Karandlaje ensured to give utmost priority and support for the cultivation of sugar cane in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district.
Responding to the appeal of Baikady Suprasad Shetty, president, Brahmavar Sugar Factory, Shobha said, "For the economic development of farmers, cultivation of sugarcane should be extended support. The central government will soon give permission to start Ethanol plant in Brahmavar sugar factory along with the ware house, food processing unit, and support will be extended to producing farm based products" she said.
Kuilady Suresh Naik, president, Udupi district BJP, Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister, K Pratapchandra Shetty, member, Vidhana Parishad, Kiran Kodgi, vice president, food corporation, BJP leaders, representatives of Bharathiya Kisan Sangh, Raitha Sangha and others were present.
