Mumbai: First Charles Nite Super Entertains Audiences at Borivli

Mumbai, Nov 8: A maiden ‘Charles Nite’ that was presented on November 5, succeeded in enthralling the packed audiences at St Francis Institute of Mangement and Research Hall in Borivli here. The show was organized by Canara Konkani Association, Borivli. Well-known theatre artiste, Francis Fernandes Cascia, was honoured on this occasion.
Fr Franklin Mathias, Fr Leo D’Souza, Fr Nelson Saldanha, Clement Lobo, and Ancy Paladka, were the guests for the programme. Founder president of the association, George D'Souza, accompanied all the guests to the dais. Veronica Noronha read out the citation. Fr Franklin Mathias and other guests honoured Francis with a shawl, citation, memento, flowers, and fruits.
The programme began with a prayer dance. Charles D'Cunha made a grand entry to the stage with all his artists, to the accompaniment of welcome song. Ivan Sequeira sang a tribute song dedicated to the late Wilfy Rebimbus. Some other songs that were rendered during this show were 'Jivit Monsheachem' by Charles and Denis Gonsalves, ‘Konknni Uloi’, by Dorin Pinto and Rubina Furtado, 'Maria', which was presented by Charles, Ivan and Antony Tauro. 'Kallzacho Rai' song was presented by Doreen, while 'Gorbacho Tallo' was presented by Ivan. 'Bottler' was sung by Charles and Dorin.
Antony sang 'Sushmita', beautifully. 'To Dis' song was sung by Charles and Ivan. ‘Adkulo Budkulo’ song was presented by Antony, Dorin and Rubina, while the song, 'Reena' was rendered by Charles and Denis. ‘Mansugi, song was presented by Charles. The programme ended with the entire troupe singing the song, 'Happy Deepavali'. Clinton D'Cunha, Cliana D'Cunha and Lonita Lobo also joined the chorus.
Kenny Zuzarte mesmerized the people with his popular songs 'Kurlyo' and 'TakaTaka Dum'. Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph Pinto thoroughly entertained the audiences with their hilarious jokes.
Kezia Noronha, Nikita Pinto, Preetika Quadros, Veronica Noronha, Linet Noronha, Nirmala Noronha and Gracy Gonsalves presented attractive dances. Instrumental support provided by ‘Day Breakers’. Skilled instrumentalists, Joe Louis (lead guitar), Manuel (key board), Cajitan (base) and Marshal (drum) supported the performers very well.
Well-known Konkani personality, Clement Lobo, compered the programme. Veronica Noronha compered the stage programme and proposed vote of thanks at the end.
