Moodbidri, Nov 8: This year St Thomas Higher Primary school Alangar celebrates centenary year.
Centenary celebrations are planned on December 21, 2021 to motivate the old students of the school and plan the centenary celebrations and projects, a friendly get together of alumnis was organised at Alangar school hall on November 7.
More than 100 alumni leaders shining in different fields participated and got motivated Fr Francis Rodriguez, an old student of the school lighted the lamp and inaugurated the get together. He said for me this school is a home away from home and called upon everyone to be the thankful givers to this centenary in what ever way possible.
Muniraj Renjala, a reputed teacher and speaker gave an inspirational talk. In his speech, he recalled the hardships of starting a school 100 years ago and the contribution of Christian community for the education of the poorest of the poor.
"So centenary celebrations is a way to express ou gratitude to the founder and all those who have nurtured this school. We 100 persons here a great force to make this event a memorable one. Let us put hands together and be grateful by actively involving in the preparation and celebration. We are blessed ones to witness this and be part of the history of this noble school," he said.

Correspondent Fr Walter Dsouza in his presidential speech requested to render leadership services for centenary celebrations according to one's capacity, to identify donors, to identify our achievers in different fields in order to honour them, to distribute invitation to all old students and offer suggestions to the success of the centenary.
Norbert Rodriguez, an old student presently principal of government highschool kokrady, moderated the discussion.
Many gave their valuable suggestions and promised all kind of support Sr Helen Goveas, headmistress of the school welcomed and Sr Sylvia DSA headmistress of English medium proposed the vote of thanks.
Santhosh Rodriguez compered the get together concluded with a delicious meal. All had a very lovely time meeting the colleagues and recalling the past memories.
