NCPCR uncovers alleged conversion racket in Christian missionary-run hostel in MP

Bhopal, Nov 11 (IANS): The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has claimed to have uncovered an alleged conversion racket wherein Hindu girls were being converted in a Christian Missionary Girls Hostel in Madhya Pradesh.

A delegation of NCPCR led by its Chairman Priyank Kanoongo had conducted a surprise inspection at the hostel located in a village under Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

During the investigation, NCPCR claimed it found that 15-20 Hindu girls from Schedule Tribes (ST) were staying in the hostel. These girls belong to the Schedule Tribe community who have been brought in Christian Missionary Hostel in the name of providing education.

"We were informed that these girls were brought to provide better education but the fact is that there is no school building in its campus. We have also come to know that these girls were brought for some special purposes and they are being trained here," said the Chairman of NCPCR.

During the investigation, it also found that many girls have been brought from the Northeast. However, when questioned about the purpose of keeping the Hindu girls in hostel and how they were brought from Northeast, the Missionary Hostel head could give a justified answer, said the NCPCR official.

The NCPCR team also found Bible, books and other material related to the Christian Missionary from the girl's rooms, and nothing was related to the school education.

Subsequently, NCPCR wrote to the Raisen district administration and Madhya Pradesh government on this and recommended action in the matter.

"I have asked the district administration to take these girls to their homes. It is unethical and against the rights of the children. Strict action should be taken against those involved in the matter," Kanoongo said.

I am an agnostic in belief. However, i am dead sure of one thing. if Hindu numbers shrink by a few percentages, India wont remain intact. It will be torn into pieces. There are some vested interests who want this to happen.

For a hungry, uncared, unprotected and no one to look after, kid or adult, a place to stay safe and eat, becomes first religion and the place that shelter him or her, the first country. Be it in any country or any place, or in any religion. Ask those migrants who hide themselves containers and old boats to escape from armed tyrany or those who lost everything in natural disasters or man-made disasters. And when it comes to Christianity, there are millions who are born christians, but dont follow it religiously, like going church or so on. It is born with christian name and burried in a cemetary that is owned by church, with maximum of celebrating some festivals. So, any conversion largely is meaningless in anyway.

There may be so many other rackets which are taking place ... kindly put in action to provide food for the hungry and educating the poor girls who will later understand their rights to choose any religion as no one can force anyone in any religion how to worship the God Almighty. Now that the poor people have suffered under pandemic strategy it is your duty to provide healthy food and education. Just because someone is going out of the way to help this needy young girls, do not give them a bad name but try to meet the requirements ... need of the hour.

At the end the girls will be homeless. The NCPCR has no rights to intefere with activities of Nuns unless there is some crime reported. Its the hand work of Jobless youth who have forced to NCPCR and forced them enter the premises. Why they have not booked any cases.

do they say there is conversions? dont just blame the Nuns. The girls are not put in truck and carried to this place. Every Girl child has a record in the register and see the video the officer read everthing. They themselves cannot do anything for a girl child though they are on tax payers money, but if the Nuns do the charity then they have a problem.

These people will not help the poor themselves and they will not allow anyone to help them as well. For them poor should remain poor and uneducated so that they can continue to claim superiority.

What is the documented proof that they have changed the religion. Merely having a Bible in the room does not mean conversion. BTW who are alleging conversion and attacking missionaries, why can't they help the poop girls themselves?? Those parents could not feed and educate thier daughters and sent them to hostel. Now you are sending them back home. What will they do going back home??? Why can't they take care of them on thier expense???? Or tell me how many people have you helped in your life??? It is easy to accuse others, but it is difficult to do good deeds

Dear Shetty, every one of knows that none can be converted to another religion by force. Trust in one religion comes from inside. This is only allegation by sangh parivars. They are purposely blaming chiristians and muslims for converting people from Hindu religion to their religion by force. It never happened anywhere any time. One cannot be a Christian unless he trusts in Jesus. If he or she is going to church or attending mass does not mean that he or she is Christian. People from different religions visit place of worships of other religions. this does not mean that all of them are converted. People from different religions are being forced to chant jai shri ram. This one you can say as force. Try to understand between force conversion and conversin by self.

Dear friend, half knowledge is dangerous. If you want to point out a deficiency, you must have at least the basic knowledge of the topic. Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox, Syrian, etc are ideological differences. They aren't not the differences based on upper caste, lower caste, untouchables or born from the head, born from shoulder and born from feet. All groups within Christianity do not consider oneself as superior and others inferior. They visit each other's homes, sit at same level, eat the same food cooked by them. Do you understand the difference now?
