Mangaluru: Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College concludes 'Victus'

Mangaluru, Nov 11: Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College awarded the winners of Victus 2021. "Being rejected is a very good experience that makes you strong as it is an opportunity that makes you put more effort. Positive experience will motivate you to participate at higher levels,” were the words of the chief guest for those who have not won at the valedictory of Victus-2021, the inter- school virtual fest organised by Ladyhill Victoria Composite P U College on 10 November 2021.

The guest Dr Zeena Flavia Dsouza, assistant professor and HOD, department of Commerce (professional), St Aloysius College (Autonomous) suggested ‘What matters most is the experience you get in your childhood that makes your foundation’. She owed her 100 percent to her alma mater, for what she is today is because of the foundation she has achieved in Ladyhill Victoria institutions.

The programme began with a soulful prayer song followed by rhythmic welcome dance. The musical drama on mother’s love, touched the hearts of the audience. The feisty performance with colourful props added glamour to the entertaining dance. During the occasion, the achievers of Ladyhill Victoria were also honoured among which the guest of honour Dr Zeena Dsouza was felicitated for achieving her doctorate recently. Niharika Bhat was also honoured for securing the highest marks in SSLC board exams 2021 as well as Riolyn Pereira for securing the first prize in Poster Making in Agnathon 2K21, National level Inter-School and College competition.

Victus-2021, was a two day Inter-School virtual fest for high school students of Mangaluru, held on October 11 and 12. It had a collection of 16 exciting competitions permitting each student to participate in all the events organised according to their interest and enthusiasm. Almost 23 schools participated actively in the fest, summing upto 450 participants. The competitions included Be-Faunaistic (Mandala Art), Paper to Fashion (Paper dress making), I make a Billboard (Poster Making), Knock your Brains (Quiz), Go Rango-Wali (Rangoli), Be- bright Recycle (Wealth out of Waste), Chop it like it's hot (Cooking without fire and Vegetable/fruit carving), Bring music to life (Western solo singing), Awesome Blossom (Flower arrangement), Daring Disguise (fancy dress), Think and Ink (Essay writing), Big time Beauty (Bridal makeup),Leaps and Beats (Solo dance), Beauty piece (Painting) and I copycat (Mimicry).

The prize winners of various categories were awarded as well as the participants received a certificate of participation. Vyasa Maharshi Vidya Peeta, Mulki were runners up and Canara High School CBSE, Dongerkery bagged the overall winners trophy.

Veekshitha welcomed the audience and Rithin introduced the guest. Bee Fathima proposed the vote of thanks. Aysha Faiza and Niharika Bhat compered the event.

Joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions Sr Rosilde A C, principal Sr Ujvala A C, vice principal Sr Judith A C, PTA vice president Varalakshmi Rao and staff coordinator Reema Ornello were present along with the chief guest Dr Zeena on the dais. The entire programme was a vision of loveliness and all the efforts taken have definitely made Victus the route to success.
