Bengaluru, Nov 11: All the 2 lakh households in Ramanagara district will be supplied river-sourced quality water soon, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who is the District In-Charge Minister, said on Thursday.
Speaking while participating in the re-consecration of Sri Vishweshwaraswamy idol in Kempasagara village near Magadi, he said all the 2 lakh households will be supplied river water by filling 2500 lakes of the district with Cauvery water.
He said such a facility does not exist in any district of the State except in Gadag.
Before filling lakes with the river water, encroachment of lakes will be cleared and irrigation projects of Ettinahole, Sriranga and Sattegala will be implemented in a speedy manner, he said.
Development of industries along with agriculture in the district is being focused and about 2000-3000 acres of land has been identified at Maruru village for developing an industrial area.
This will generate enough employment for the local people, Dr Narayan explained.
He also stated that 108 ft statue of Magadi Kempegowda will be erected at Bengaluru International Airport by coming March.
The burial place of Kempegowda at Kempapura will be developed as Veerabhumi and the required land for this will be acquired by giving suitable compensation to the concerned farmers.
Seers of Siddagange and Ankanahalli Mutts, Manjunath, MLA, A Devegowda, MLC, Devaraju, President District BJP Unit, and others were present.
