Bengaluru, Nov 16: All arrangements are in place for the inauguration of the prestigious Bengaluru Tech Summit 2021 (BTS 2021) by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Karnataka’s flagship event backed by the Union government will see participation by over 30 countries and will witness several new initiatives, Higher Education and IT/BT, Skills Development Minister, Dr C N Ashwatha Narayana told reporters on the eve of the three-day event.
Dr C N Ashwatha Narayana, who was at the scheduled event venue on Tuesday to inspect the preparations being done, said the 24th edition of the event from November 17 to 19 is being conducted in hybrid format.
Israel, Australia, Indian PMs to participate Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of Israel (virtual) and Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia (virtual), Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics and IT, will be guests of honor, while State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will preside over the inaugural function.
“For the first time, South Africa, Vietnam and UAE will be participating in the BTS 2021, which will also see for the first time mutual participation of Karnataka and Australia through BTS and Sydney Dialogue is being arranged,’’ Dr Narayana said.
``As part of this, the Sydney Dialogue sessions which also will be on the same days (November 17-19) wherein Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing virtually on November 18 and it is going to be streamed on the BTS platform and likewise streaming of BTS on the Sydney Dialogue. It will provide an opportunity to show content from our participants.’’
He further said ‘India Innovative Alliance’ and India US Tech Conclave initiatives have been introduced for the first time. The minister said “BTS-2021 will bring together global leaders, Indian Corporate, R&D, and Start-Ups from electronics, IT, Deeptech and Biotech and policymakers driving the next wave of innovation into one platform.
The event having 75+ Conference Sessions is expected to see the participation of 300+ Speakers, 5,000+ Start-Up Attendees, 300+ Exhibitors, 20,000+ Business attendees and overall digital reach to half a million tech enthusiasts, he said. BTS-2021 event spectrum includes Multi-Track conferences, International Exhibition, Global Innovation Alliance (GIA), India-US Tech Conclave, R & D (lab to market), India Innovation Alliance, STPI IT Export Awards, Start-Up Unicorn Felicitation, Smart Bio Awards & Bio Posters, Rural IT Quiz and Bio Quiz, Science Gallery, B2B Meetings. The event riding on the mantra Reform, Transform and Perform comprises deliberations on a diverse set of topics on four tracks of IT, Biotechnology, Start-up and GIAs.
"We have made elaborate arrangements to make BTS-2021 a grand success as the event sessions are going to be conducted in hybrid format, Dr Narayana said.
Distinguished Keynote Speakers Keynote speakers include Martin Schroeter, CEO, Kyndryl, Prof Klaus Schwab, Founder and Chairman, World Economic Forum, Dr Siddhartha Mukherjee, Indian-American Physician, Priya Balasubramaniam, Vice President, Operations Apple Inc., Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, Gaven Standon, Executive Partner Ecosystem, Telstra, Gil Shwed, Founder and CEO, Checkpoint among others. Chetan Bhagat, Indian Author and Columnist will deliver a plenary talk on November 19.
Highlighting sessions include “Deepening India-Australia ties in 'tech and innovation,” “Healthcare and Medical Technology”, “Digital Health in Finland: Developing AI and VR tools to support the growth of health technology businesses” among others.
GIA sessions will throw light on issues of Cyber Security and Related Research Applications, Digital trust in a post-pandemic world, Driving Next with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Developing Artificial Intelligence and Visual Reality Tools for developing health care technology. Virtual booths set up by Australia, Pennsylvania, UK, Toronto Business Development Centre, NRW, USA will be part of the event.
