Bengaluru, Nov 23: Referring to various news items based on former chief minister, B S Yediyurappa's request to the JD(S) to direct their votes to the BJP wherever their party has not fielded any candidate, the news that the BJP has entering into an understanding with the JD(S) is being widely circulated. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, referring to these rumours, said that so far there has not been any proposal to join hands with the JD(S) in the MLC election.
He told the media persons that he is not aware under what circumstances Yediyurappa made this remark. He stressed that the two parties have not entered into any dialogue on this issue.
He however confirmed that he is aware of a proposal in this connection made by Yediyurappa. "He just came up with a request. I will speak to our leaders. But so far there have been no moves with regard to striking an electoral understanding," he stated.
