New Delhi: Yeddyurappa to be Shown the Door?

NEW DELHI, Nov 19(TNN): Top BJP sources have told Times Now that the party might ask Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to step down after his role in the alleged land grab scam in the state was exposed.

Sources have said that BJP sees Yeddyurappa as weak spot in fight against corruption against Congress and might ask him to resign so as to gain a high moral ground. Yeddyurappa came under opposition attack after he de-notified about two acres acquired by BDA for the Arkavathy residential layout, allegedly favouring his sons and son-in-law.

The BJP leadership late on Thursday decided to call Yeddyurappa, who is in the thick of controversy over denotification of prime urban land in favour of his family members, is likely to meet party's top brass in Delhi on Saturday along with other senior leaders from the state.

The Core Group of the party, which met at the residence of senior leader L K Advani, discussed the current situation including dissidence in the party against the chief minister who has been accused of nepotism and corruption.

The leadership is said to be of the view that the political embarrassment in Karnataka has come at a time when the party is spearheading a campaign against the central government on the issue of corruption.

Party sources said the leaders were looking for a way out of the situation but were unclear how to go about it. The leaders maintained that removal of the chief minister may not be a viable option given the delicate balance in the state politics.

But if it comes to the crunch, the possibility of an alternative leader from dominant Lingayat community, to which the chief minsiter belongs, cannot be ruled out, party sources said.

Emerging from BJP's Core Group meeting, senior leader Arun Jaitley told reporters that it was decided in the meeting that the chief minister and other important leaders will be called in the coming one or two days to discuss the entire subject with the central leadership.

Earlier, party sources had said the chief minsiter was summoned tonight but reports from Banglore said Yeddyurappa cancelled his late night flight booking to Delhi.

Ananth Kumar, MP from Karnataka, who is accused by chief minister's supporters of fanning dissidence against him, also attended the Core Group meeting.

    For the minorities of Karnataka,
the CM was a double-edged sword,
but in the long run, we are going
to see a big picture on the screen
why God put him as a the CM of
    Karnataka.

    As Mr. Bulsam has commented,
there is a vast difference in
between the CM or Gujarat and of
    Karnataka.

This is not going to happen. BJP high commond knows that if Yeddi goes, it is not easy to install a new govt with a new leadership with the reduced BJP numbers.
They will carry on with him till he complete his looting.

I don't think BJP is not that much
desparately takes action. We have to appreciate CM for not denying
the facts. But it is the Judiciary
has to find out the real truth in
political gimmick of JD(S) in bringing the development spirit of our CM to halt. Mere allegations
    not deserves action or reaction.

There should not be different yardstick to judge on politicians. Yeddy can't justify his ill deeds if he inherited such corrupt practices from Congress & JDS leaders. BJP must replace CM Yeddy with honest & intelligent political leader / Administrator. If BJP wish to protect its base in Karnataka, BJP must not hesitate to take bitter decission.

If they don’t sack B S Yeddyurappa, they have no right to point finger at others.
If they don’t sack B S Yeddyurappa, understandably BJP is encouraging corruption.
If they don’t sack B S Yeddyurappa, they will be out of power all over India.
If they don’t sack B S Yeddyurappa, understandably they need more funds for next election.

Recent list of celebrities who claimed that they are innocent and hence will not resign :

Shashi Tharoor, Ashok Chavan, Suresh Kalmadi, A. Raja .....
Let him add another sentence that after an enquiry he will be proved 100 % innocent.

The fact remains that corruption is not the preserve of a single political party. Almost all of them are in it only for their selfish ends to make money quickly and enjoy power. It is high time that all Indians unite and ensure that such corrupt people are dealt with in an exemplary manner so that others think twice before entering politics with suspect motives.

Cheap minister was repeatedly saying from the last six months that he has done so many things that the congress has failed to do from the last sixty years. Now all six crore kannadigas as well as the whole India has seen with documentary evidence what he was saying. The whole India has never seen such a corrupt and useless cheap minister in any states. Such a cheap minister should be kicked out from the part. He is unfit to become a member of any political party. His all deeds from 2008 should be revalidated.

BSY should continue. Congress is already submerged into scams and HDK used this opportunity put the BJP in spot. Land denotifications and nepotism as well as favoritism have been the part of politics (both at state and central) Nothing new in this. Opposition has purchased media and they think BSY is the major obstacle to defeat BJP in Karnataka. Karnataka Govt has already initiated a enquiry from SC judge to look at last 10 years land denotification. Even SM Krishna's misdeeds would come out by this enquiry. SMK has favored his son-in-law in most of the land deals during his regime.

Leader bravely admitting that he has not flaunted norms to favour his sons & daughters needs to be appalauded. This is not specualation by media but mere facts seen by the whole Nation. We have seen BJP rule and all their fair of SCAMS and that is why they were out before their tenure. Criticism for the ruling party at the center too is appalauded. But where IAS officers who are incharge of burecratic process are fleecing the country. How does a fair priminister and his team control such a rot. Our PM can only try his best to take care of rhe country .

JAI HO MANMOHAN SINGJI YOU MAKE US PROUD A TRUE INDIAN AT HEART, MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO STAND STEADFAST AND UNCOVER BRICK BY BRICK THE ROT IN THE SYSTEM. JAI HO BHARATH, JAI HO INDIA.

Mr.Nayak must be a worried man, but the way he vehemently supports Shriman Yeddyurappa makes me feel that he is at least consistent in something. On the other hand these politicians are gobbling up land by acers in downtown Bangalore at the cost of peanuts, whereas a common man like me struggles to buy a 60*40 site, that too in vain.
