IAF Chopper Crashes in Arunachal, 11 Feared Killed


Guwahati, Nov 19 (IANS) An MI 17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF), carrying 11 defence personnel, crashed due to dense fog in Arunachal Pradesh Friday, a defence official said. All those on board were feared killed.

The accident took place at 12.05 p.m. at Bombdir, near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh bordering China, at an altitude of 14,000 feet. The chopper was on its way from Tawang to Guhawati, Assam. It crashed soon after take off, a defence official said.
