Mangalore: Mass Marriage – 11 Couples Enter Wedded Bliss

Mangalore, Nov 22: A mass marriage for Muslim couples was organized at Shadi Mahal, Bolar in the city, on Sunday November 21. The programme, in which Nikah of 11 couples was solemnized, was sponsored by city-based Zakria Foundation, a philanthropic organization.
Udupi Kazi, P M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal, inaugurated the programme. Addressing the people, he reiterated that Muslim marriages should always remain simple as ordained by scripts, and that they should not become occasions to showcase one’s prestige and riches. He lamented that because of the dowry menace, girls from all the communties and religions are suffering, and many are driven to join brothels at the end.
Mangalore Kazi, Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, performed the Dua. The Nikah ritual was led by E M Abdul Rehman Darimi, Khateeb of Mohiyuddin Jumma Masjid in Jokatte. Imam of Shivajinagar Bangalore Masjid Noor, V K Abdul Khader Saheb, presided. MLA, U T Khader, and retired vice chancellor of Kannur and Kozhikode universities, Prof M Abdul Rehman, extended best wishes to the couples.
Former city mayor, K Ashraf, managing director of Sana Group of Concerns, B A Akbar Ali, Y Muhammed Beary, B M Mumtaz Ali, P B A Razack, G Abdul Khader, C R Abubakker, Siraj Ahmed, B Shekhunhi, Mansoor Ahmed, and M Hanif, were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
On this occasion, Mangalore Kazi, Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, Udupi Kazi, P M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal, V K Abdul Khader, Imam from Bangalore, Amaco Ashraf from Saudi Arabia, Hayatul Islam Association’s former president, K C Hasainar, Puttur Markazal Huda Girls PU College president, K Usman Mittoor, and secretary of Safa Youngmen’s Association Uppinangady, Abdul Rehman M G, were felicitated.
