Kasargod: Sticking of 'I am Babri' stickers to children stokes controversy

Kasargod, Dec 8: The district had been witnessing till last year, incidents of stoning of vehicles, bandhs, haratals etc in protest against the demolition of the disputed Babri Masjid structure in Uttar Pradesh on December 6, 1992. No such protests were organized this time.

However, an organization had pasted 'I am Babri' stickers to the shirts of students of one of the sections in Kumble government school on December 6. This reportedly was done forcibly.

The Parents Teachers Association of the said school has condemned this incident. It has demanded legal action against the concerned. BJP and Hindu organizations have also condemned the incident. The Sangh Parivar has demanded registration of childline case against those who forcibly pasted these badges to the shirt pockets of the boys. It also asked the parents to protest against the fact that their children have no protection in the said school.
