Mumbai, Dec 10: Chembur Karnataka High school drawing teacher Sriram S Mahajan has been presented with the prestigious innovative art teacher award 2021.

Mahajan is selected among eligible candidates in Maharashtra by Jalgaon Lalith Art Academy Chopda and Maharashtra state art teachers association.

Former Vidhan Sabha speaker Arunbhai Gujarati presented the award during the 81st birthday of social leader and former president of national women’s commission Dr Susheelaben Shah. J J School of Art Mumbai dean, professor Sandeep Dongare, Lalith Art academy principal Rajendra Mahajan and Urmilaben Gujarati congratulated Sriram with a plaque, certificate, shawl, flower bouquet and Rs 11 thousand in cash.

Mahajan has been working in the education sector, social service and environment protection since the last 21 years. He has held workshops and exhibitions of environment friendly Ganesh idols since the last few years, providing guidance to more than 2,000 students and distributed books to several libraries. He has paid school fees of poor students and received national and international awards.

Chembur Karnataka Sangha president, advocate H K Sudhaker Arate and management committee members, Karnataka high school principal Dr Geetanjali Salian, teaching and non-teaching staff and students have congratulated Sriram and wished that he may succeed in all of his future endeavors.
