Ramanagara, Dec 11: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar (DKS), predicted that his party will get back the seats it had lost previously, and again bag some more seats.
He was speaking after casting his vote on Friday December 10. He said that there is a chance of a couple of seats slipping out because of government machinery being misused. Still, he said his party will bag more seats.
"I am not opposed to seeking support. We too have asked all the other parties including BJP and independents to support the Congress. But Yediyurappa had vowed to demolish the Congress and force it to spend 15 years in the opposition. He ridiculed the BJP leaders for seeking the support of the JD(S), which in itself in doldrums. He commented that this shows the pathetic condition of the BJP and that it has lost its eminence.
Speaking at Channapatna, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy told the Congress leadership that it will come to know of the strength of the JD(S) in the 2023 assembly election. Speaking to media persons after casting his vote on Friday, he said that Yediyurappa's plea for support shows his large heartedness. Commenting on Shivakumar's comment that his party is weak, he said that in the assembly election be held after a year, there will be changes. He asserted that he or his father had never sought the support of the Congress to make him the chief minister.
