Doha, Dec 13: ICC assembled all Apex Bodies, and Indian Community at ICC Ashoka hall to express grief and anguish on the sudden and sad demise of Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 other armed forces personnel in an extremely unfortunate helicopter accident in Coonoor, Nilgiri Hills Tamil Nadu.
It was the saddest moment for entire India losing the brave soldiers.
Indian Army Col D Purushothaman Pillay (Retd) of Army Ordnance Corps briefed the career and family details of Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, and his contribution to armed forces.
All who gathered stood in silence to pray for their souls to rest in peace and in support of the families.
Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal shared the details about his association and interactions with CDS General Bipin Rawat. The untimely death of the finest minds, leaders, above all brave soldiers is a void, and cannot be filled easily.
On behalf of the Indian community ISC president Dr Mohan Thomas, ICC president PN Babu Rajan, and ICBF vice president Vinod Nair spoke. All those who lost their life spent life in safeguarding our borders, as and when required maintaining peace and tranquillity across the length and breadth of the country. ICC cultural secretary, Shweta Kosthy steered the evening by narrating the incident and calling dignitaries to speak.
