Bengaluru, Dec 14: Rajeshwari (84), daughter in law of renowned poet of Kannada Rashtrakavi Kuvempu and wife of poet K P Poornachandra Tejaswi, passed away in a private hospital on the morning of Tuesday, December 14.
Rajeshwari Tejaswi was suffering from high fever for four days and was getting treated for the same. However, she succumbed to the disease. She lived alone in the Hand Post farm at Mudigere after the death of her husband Poornachandra Tejaswi. Only a few days ago she went to her daughter’s house in the city.
Rajeshwari was born in a very common family living in Kalasipalyam new extension in 1937. However, due to her father’s vision of providing education to girls in order to make them self-sufficient, she joined Manasa Gangotri in Mysuru to do Honours in Philosophy and M A. Rajeshwari met Poornachandra Tejaswi at Manasa Gangothri and they fell in love. They got married in 1966.
‘Nanna Tejaswi’ is the first book written by Rajeshwari. She also wrote ‘Namma Manegoo Bandaru Gandhiji’.
Rajeshwari is survived by two daughters. Both are working as software engineers.
