Yeddyurappa ‘to Act’ in Film on Lord Ayyappa
New Delhi/Bangalore, Nov 27 (DHNS): Perhaps impressed by his performance in the political arena, director Vijeesh Mani has cast Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for a prominent role in his latest film on Lord Ayyappa, a Malayalam newspaper reported on Saturday.
To be titled “Bhooloka Rakshakan” (protector of the universe), the film would be produced in a total of 35 languages - 18 Indian and 17 foreign, the leading Kerala daily “Mathrubhoomi” reported.
According to the newspaper, the film would be based on the friendship between Ayyappa and Vavar, a Muslim friend of the Lord, sending out a message of peace.
According to reports, Yeddyurappa held detailed discussions with Mani when he visited the Madayi Kavu temple near Kannur recently.
The first scene of the film was shot last month and locations for shooting would include Sabarimala, the Mysore Palace, Kailash Manassarovar and Oman.
The film also features Vivek Oberoi, an Ayyappa devotee, several cricketers and upcoming actors, the report said. It is also said that Brahmadattan, the son of the Raja Tantri at the Sabarimala Temple will be seen in an important role.
Mani, who is back after another record-making film “Bhagavan” which was shot in 12 hours in 2009, has roped in ace percussionist Sivamani to score the music for this film. More than 200 singers will reportedly be lending their voices to songs penned by 50 lyricists.
The chief minister’s office in Bangalore said the report was nothing but “rumours”.
