Mangalore, Nov 28: JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy who was on a visit to the city here on Sunday November 28, reiterated his intention to expose the misdeeds of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and said that he was ready to cooperate with the Lokayukta in probing the land deals during his tenure as chief minister.
He was addressing a press meet at the Circuit House here.
Clarifying that he has nothing personal against Yeddyurappa but that it was a 'fight against nepotism,' he said that he would not rest, even if he had to 'take birth eight times,' until he succeeded in exposing the chief minister's malpractices in front of the people of the state.
Pledging his support to the Lokayukta in probing the cases in land deals that took place during his stance as CM, he said that the government is questioning the credibility of the contitutional body and added that some of the BJP MLAs have been belittling the Lokayukta by demanding Justice Santhosh Hegde's apology to Yeddyurappa.
Commenting on the government's Bhagyalaxmi scheme, Kumaraswamy said that as much as Rs 20 crore out of the Rs 25 crore was spent merely on organising distribution programmes. Calling it part of the vote bank politics, he said that distributing sarees will not help in eradicating poverty in the state.
He brushed aside any possibility of reconciliation with Yeddyurappa and said that a truce with him was out of the question. He also attacked the CM on his mission to expose JD(S) through advertisments and claimed that the first attempt to do so in a couple of Kannada dailies contained a number of factual errors.
On the question of inducting former Bajrang Dal leader Mahendra Kumar in JD(S), following reports that the latter had shown interest in this regard owing to displeasure with BJP leaders, Kumaraswamy refused to commit and said that Mahendra Kumar must first prove himself to have understood JD(S) well.
He also reacted to allegations regarding him depositing a large sum of money in actress Radhika's account saying that such allegations had no foundation in facts and challenged anyone to come forward with documents to support the charges.
Kumaraswamy also visited AJ Hospital as well Kalaangann later in the day to attend the fourth day of World Konkani Cultural Convention.
