Mumbai, Dec 20: Tulu Kannadigara Abhimani Balaga held a programme at Poisar Gymkhana, Kandivli west on December 18 to felicitate north Mumbai Loksabha constituency MP Gopal C Shetty for obtaining government approval for his proposal to increase the marriageable age of girls to 21.

The MP said that increasing the eligible age for girls for marriage to 21 years by the government is the right decision. He said that besdies girls, the decision will also benefit the parents of the girls.

Tulu Kannadigara Abhimani Balaga convener Ermal Harish Shetty said that the prime minister’s slogan of Beti Bachao, Beti Padavo has brought about several improvements in the country.

Usha Gopal Shetty, Nitte M G Shetty, Jyothi Shetty, Karunaker Shetty of Poisar Ghymkhana, Ravindra S Shetty, Shailaja Amaranath Shetty, Munnalayiguthu Sachidananda Shetty, Prakash M Shetty Kalathur, Vijaya R Bhandary, Manohar N Shetty, Shanta N Bhat, heads, office bearers and members of local groups and associations, BJP’s leaders and activists congratulated the MP.
