Sri Lanka: Cultural Parishad, Vishwa Shanti Pratistana hold cultural festival

Sri Lanka, Dec 20: Antarrashtriya Bharatiya Samskritika Parishad and Vishwa Shanti Prathistana held international Kannada cultural festival at Bentota, Sri Lanka on December 16. Several achievers and artistes of Karnataka were identified and presented Global Icon awards in the event.

Melanagavimata Shivagange inaugurated the programme. Parishad president K P Manjunath Sagar in his address said that the programme is a small effort to create cultural harmony in international circles.

Sri Lanka’s businessman Rajiv Fernando, D S Vishwanath, Dr E Anjaneya, Haji Munir Bava, G N Swamy and Jayalaxmi Bai were present. Awards were presented to B N Horapete, Shanmukhayya Thotada, Yakub Khader Gulvadi and Favisiddayya Hallikeremata.

Sharanayya Itagi Mehboob Killedar and others presented cultural programme. G N Swamy compered the programme and rendered vote of thanks.
