Mangalore, Nov 29: Being pioneers and enterprising is an art which many  Mangaloreans have mastered  with aplomb to emerge as leaders in their respective fields  both in the national and global scenario.    By their enterprise   Mangaloreans have contributed notably to India’s rising prosperity and this success   naturally  has to coalesced with  standardized  and energetic living.

Mangalore has emerged as one of the fastest growing tier-2 cities of the country and  witnessed rapid development in the last decade.   Development always partners novel concepts to improve quality of life and Mangalore is no exception to adapt to this.    Nevertheless, one cannot deny that  there is a shortfall of choices of good lifestyle living for the successful Mangaloreans in their hometown to compliment their success and stature.    “planet sks”,  which has the distinction of being one of the tallest premium residential towers in Karnataka, is a high-end housing project  coming up  in Mangalore,  to cater to this generation of the   bold and successful,  who want to enhance quality of urban life with best comforts to savor the everlasting joy of living.

Shashi Kiran Shetty

The clubhouse offers fitness and  plush lifestyle amenities  such as swimming pools basketball court, tennis court, , indoor squash and  shuttle badminton court, skating rink, health club,  yoga and meditation pavilion, jogging track amidst greens, spa, state of the art gym, , party  hall and suites for guests.   This  residential project is designed to provide an eclectic mix of living in a sanctuary of peace and beatitude, without foregoing the benefits of modern day conveniences and luxuries.  Innovative technology in its finest form is the hallmark of this project.
Sanath Kumar Shetty declares “planet sks  is a home and a habitat and  our humble presentation to those people who are unconventional innovative and successful those who want to experience life as an adventure,  to live life to the fullest”.

“What sets this iconic project apart from the rest is that for the first time the latest  MIVAN technology  is being used in the project.  This is a revolutionary formwork construction system for cast in place reinforced concrete building structure.  Using this unique systems all the walls, floor slabs, columns, beams, stairs, balconies together with door and window openings are cast in place in a single site  based operation resulting in achieving high structural stability and accurate dimensions.  It is built on the ‘low density high rise policy’ to ensure healthy living ”, says  an exuberant Shashi Kiran Shetty,  principal promoter of this  exclusive project.   Shashi Kiran Shetty also hastens to add that it is an ecologically sustainable project.  “Our dream is to implement self sustaining greenery to restore habitats of plant and bird life.  89% of open space is our proud contribution to conservation.   We intend to install our own Sewage Treatment Plant at site to undertake waste water management in our efforts to provide reuse and recycling of waste without putting strain on the infrastructure of the city”, he points out.

The project  is located amidst the lush green  environs with an indomitable view of the  swaying palms.  Its strategic and central location ensures that all amenities are just a 15 minutes drive anywhere from the city including airport, sea port, bus station and  the railway stations.  A large lung space to the occupants is  ensured as the  Kadri Park is situated in the close vicinity of the site.

With lot of ingenious planning going into the project  keeping in tune with the concept of providing smart homes to the discerning,   “planet sks” represents new dimension in design, elegance and  style.    The project offers 3300 sft 3 bedroom apartments  in the first 25 floors (6 units per floor) and 4 bedroom apartments of 6600 sft  (3 units per floor) from 26th floor onwards.   Each unit of the 6600 sft  4 bedroom apartment has a 35X10 feet lap swimming  pool with a deck area of 700sft.

Apart from world class amenities   every apartment  has a lavish lay out, both functional and well ventilated. The efficient lay out and the sensuous interiors of the apartments are simply the  symbol of high living.   The circulation pattern within the apartment provides privacy to the bedrooms.  Intelligent planning ensures service entry directly to the work area/kitchen from the floor lobby.  The grand 60 feet cantilever double height porch flanked by cascading waterfall and extensive greenery  awaits its inhabitants, to give that feeling of being in another world altogether.  Spacious lobbies at every floor,  sky gardens at regular intervals and  a majestic entrance lobby are some of the luxury features which are sure to ensure  a timeless impression to this signature architectural marvel.

As  Shashi Kiran  Shetty says “Mangalore has enfolded novel concepts  aimed at improving the quality of life especially those which have caused common good.  Mangalore’s enterprising and  intelligent citizens are exposed to international technology and are comfortable with it.  We want to celebrate this human spirit and want to erect not just icons but buildings that celebrate the  newer concepts, wisdom and competence of today, for a better tomorrow and we want to salute that spirit through this project”.

With fitness gaining more paramount  importance these days “planet sks”  has energizing fitness amenities and provisions  such as a unique creative and innovative pedestrian causeway (underground), fully equipped air-conditioned gymnasium with extensive indoor and outdoor landscape  to give that feeling of working out in the woods.  The  rejuvenating Spa  in conformity to global standards is aimed to give the resort kind of experience at the doorstep of the inhabitants.

Commenting on what made him to opt for this high rise eco-friendly tower Shashi Kiran Shetty admits  “environment friendly concepts make significant impact only when the entire community subscribes and adopts it. Preservation and restoration of urban ecosystem is feasible with high rise buildings.  Therefore, I feel   community housing is an opportunity to implement such eco-friendly  concepts  of  the larger good of both the users and the city at large”.

With this project Shashi Kiran Shetty is making a foray into community housing and infrastructure.  “I wished to start my journey on a safe shore and Mangalore being my hometown, where I can expect all possible help, I decided to come out with this project”, he admits.
The architect of this new destination in Mangalore,  Sanath Kumar Shetty talking about the main object of the project says “several Mangaloreans have achieved success  in varied fields and  have put  Mangalore’s name  in the global scenario.  Needless to say they  are accustomed to global standards of living.  This captive market has not been serviced as yet.  Complimenting their success with a good lifestyle in their hometown in Mangalore is the objective of promoting this luxury housing project”.

It is interesting to note that promoter Shashi Kiran Shetty is the Chairman and Managing Director of Allcargo Global Logistics Limited, which has a presence in 65 countries of the world.  Allcargo  is India’s first  multinational company in the logistics sector.  His enterprising success has brought him the Young Entrepreneur award and his company was deservingly awarded  “Logistics Company of the Year” by NDTV Profit in 2009.  The combination of his experience, expertise and business acumen and the architectural knowhow of Sanath Kumar Shetty are sure to make “planet sks” an heavenly abode on earth.  It is for those who are a class apart, who wish to experience good life and know they deserve it.

It is appreciate that a industrialist is interring in to a new field, first wish him all the best and second, wish the team of SKS*2 for the team effort for the plan and ute the project. Let the Mangalore develop first, rest of the thing will come/follow automatically. Country is developing then why not Mangalore? Encourage the developers because they are from our home soil.

    Necessity is the mother of
    invention, and the construction
    of high rise buildings to
    accomodate the growing population
is the only avenue to move
    forward.

    I don't have any knowledge
    in city planning, but simply
    making my own opinion.

    While visiting a gulf country
20 years back, I was surprised to
to see several high rise buildings,
but those buildings were on the
side of two lane roads, and no space was availabe to widen the roads. There was
    not any parking area nearby.

It was quite common sense to have
    wider roads, parking place and
space for emergency vehicles to move fast in an emergency situation.

    These requirements may not
    be applicable before issuing
    building permits in India, because
    corruption may have a stronger
    voice to get things done.

KT, Mangalore.. I am not a supporter of the builder nor a relative of the builder...If you had read my comments clearly , you would have noticed that I did mention that Good roads are important .My whole point was " Be appreciateive about the developments in Mangalore ".
If we would would have waited for Good roads First then build high rise buildings , we would never have any buildings in Mangalore cause we WILL NEVER have good roads for many many years..

Few weeks ago there was a delegation from Canada who wanted to help MCC for development of Mangalore city. They mentioned city culture will not be compromised while developing the city. Mangalore is not a culture for high rise towers. I am sure many Managloreans don’t want to see Mangalore converting in to concrete jungle. This high rise should go outwards so the city limit also extends.

Deepak kumar, Indian, seems to be supporter of builder. Deepak roads are more important than high rise buidling. if there is a fire you need proper approach roads otherwise you are putting people lives in danger. i dont see any wrong in Ramesh comment.

Skylines are required for Mangalore city. It is a great venture, please keep up the quality which is more important. Mangalore city needs such tall buildings. It is sad to say that when we walk or drive in the city area, the apartments are displayed with clothes and so many other garments spoil the beauty of the buildings. So many visitors are coming to the city not to see the dirty garments/clothes displayed for drying in these buildings. The builders and promoters need to think on this aspect.
