Chennai, Dec 21: In an incident which happened in the outskirts of the city, a college student who used to blackmail two tenth standard girl students, was kidnapped in film fashion and murdered. The blackmailer used personal photos which would have embarrassed the girls if published, to pester them.

Premkumar (20), the blackmailer in question, used to fleece the girls by threatening to make public their private photos and video clip, got killed in the case. He fell victim to a plan hatched by the two girls. The police have taken custody of his body and questioned the three accused extensively.

The police say that Premkumar, son of Ravichandran who is a daily wage worker, had got entry into degree course after finishing PU education. When he was roaming around Vandaluru wildlife sanctuary when there were no classes, he came in contact with two tenth standard girl students. He exchanged mobile phone numbers with them and came closer to them. He clicked their personal photos but later started to blackmail them by using these photos.

Initially the girls gave him money as and when he demanded. Within a year, he succeeded in forcing the girls to pay Rs 1.5 lac. After their funds dried up, the girls felt clueless. As pressure for more money mounted, they befriended another student from Instagram and explained to him their predicament. The friend drew up a plan to finish off Premkumar and asked the girls to bring the blackmailer to a specific spot. When Premkumar reached Redhills area, the Instagram friend who was waiting along with a friend, suddenly came there, kidnapped Premkumar, took him to a secluded spot in Gummidipondi area where he was tortured and killed. The boys then buried the body and returned home and acted as if nothing had happened.

The incident came out because of Premkumar's friend who was present when the kidnap took place, and had succeeded in escaping and returning home.
