Mangalore: Congress to be Revitalized in State, says Confident Parameshwar

Mangalore, Nov 30: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwar said that new era will be the era of Congress party and the party will be re-energized on the basis of instructions given by Sonia Gandhi while he was selected for the KPCC president post.
He was speaking on his ace visit to city to inaugurate the party workers’ convention held at Town hall on Tuesday November 30. Congress has got the strong history of 200 years of its existence in the nation. The party always supported equality among all the religion and its principles has saved the nation, he claimed.
Pointing out the achievements done by Congress he said that with the initiation of 5 year plans in the country various sectors like health, industry, railway, among others were developed by Congress. He grieved over the fact that internal clashes have damaged the party’s image. He called upon the leaders and party workers to recall the sacrifice done by the Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and others leaders and to work for the party without expecting return.
Lamenting over the working style of BJP government in the state he said people never had a worst goveranance as this. He said that saree distribution is not an achievement and Yeddyurappa in the four budgests presented so far has not given any stable developmental schemes.
He also indicated the leaders to include youth in the active politics as Congress needs a change. He asserted that Congress will come into power for sure in the state which received thundering applauds by the gathering.
Veteran Congress leader Janardan Poojary presided over the programme.
MLA Ramanath Rai, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLAs Abhaychandra Jain and U T Khadar, leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council C and former opposition leader V S Ugrappa among others were present.
Newly appointed Block Congress Committee (BCC) presidents from Dakshina Kannada district were felicitated on the occasion by Dr G Parameshwar.
Earlier, Parameshwar and other Congress leaders were welcomed to the city through a grand procession from Jyoti circle to Town Hall.
