Bangalore: Land Scam – Unexpectedly, CM Draws Support from Governor
Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)
Bangalore, Dec 1: In a surprising development, state Governor, Hansraj Bhardwaj, came to the rescue of the Chief Minister, at a time when the latter’s decision to refer land scam issue to judicial inquiry instead of Lokayukta has been receiving allround criticisms and he is being accused of harbouring nepotism on a large scale. “There is no need to put decisions being taken by the Chief Minister to critical analysis,” he opined.
Speaking after taking part in a function organized here by Loka Shikshana Trust for conferring The Late Harnahalli Ramaswamy Loka Shikshana Trust Social Service Awards, he felt that slinging mud at every decision of the Chief Minister does not augur well for the state’s development. “Voters are mature. They have the capacity to decide what is good and what is not. If the Chief Minister of a state takes wrong decisions, it is left for the voters to judge these decisions,” he clarified. While claiming that he has special place in his heart for Karnataka, he said he had seen a rear combination of Dasa and Sharana literary heritage in this state.
Speaking after presiding over the function, state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, accused some people of unnecessarily criticizing even good decisions taken by him. He felt that these are backed by vested interests and a conspiracy to unseat him. While feeling that the efforts of some frustrated people to defame him will not bear fruits, he exuded the confidence that he will be able to achieve overall development of the state.
Harnahalli Social Service Awards were handed over to Dr Vijaya and Hoovappa Giriappa Kumbar on this occasion. Former union minister, M V Rajashekharan, former minister, Rani Satish, G Venkatasubbaiah, Ashok Harnahalli and others were present.
