Mangalore: JDS Holds Rally against BJP MLAs’ Statement on Lokayukta

Mangalore, Dec 1: District unit of JDS held a rally to oppose the statements by BJP MLAs’ that degraded Lokayukta Santhosh Hegde and thereby constitution. The rally was held in front of the deputy commissioner's office on Wednesday December 1.

Addressing the protestors district JDS president Sadashiv M B said that many of the BJP MLAs in the state do not respect the institution of lokayukta. This has resulted in neck deep corruption and financial irregularities in the state. He urged for the CBI probe into land scams that has been leveled against Yeddyurappa.

Defending the work done by Kumaraswamy during his stint as the Chief Minister, he said JDS government is still remembered by the people of the state for its developmental projects.

Recenly Kumaraswamy had responded to a media report and helped a poor widow from Kalmada of Sullia taluk. He kept Rs 3 lac deposit amount to assist her children’s education and made sure that the family gets Rs 3,000 every month, he added.

He also said that JDS will continue to fight for justice on land scams.

Various leaders like, Sushil Noronha, Gangadhar Ullal, Aziz Aalar, Haidar Parthipady, J S Noronha, D M Aslam and Habib A Khader among others were present.
