Bengaluru, Dec 25: A high level meeting of ministers and technical experts will be held in Bengaluru on Sunday to decide on the containment measures to be taken over the rise in omicron infection cases, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Hubballi, he said the State Government was worried over the increase in omicron cases in Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister said he was not planning to undertake any foreign tours for the time being.
Pointing out that he had planned to visit Davos to participate in the World Economic Forum conclave which was scheduled to be held in January, Bommai said the conclave has now been postponed to June. “Therefore, I am not planning to undertake any foreign tours now,’’ he said.
Later, he participated in various programmes for inaugurating and laying foundation stones in Vijayapura district involving a total outlay of Rs 240 crore.
The Chief Minister also distributed the ownership titles to 6,000 beneficiaries for the Karnataka Slum Board programme of distribution of sites.
The Chief Minister also took part in the centenary celebrations of Hubballi Taluk Agricultural Produce Marketing Society.
Bommai promised to provide all help and assistance for the growth of the society and said it was really a great achievement to see the society serving farmers for hundred years, especially in the present content of modernisation and globalisation.
