Kabaddi Queen Mamata Poojary Gets Hearty Welcome at Airport

Mangalore, Dec 1: Mamata Poojary, member of the Indian women’s Kabaddi team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games held in China recently, was given a warm welcome at the Mangalore Airport on Wednesday December 1.
The flight landed at the Bajpe airport at 6.35 pm.
Speaking to presspersons she said that women's Kabaddi was not given much attention in India, but with her achievement she hoped that people would look at it with more interest.
She said that the allegation against the central government that it does not support sportpersons and athletes is false, and added that she has been awarded Rs 10 lac by the central government.
A bachelor in arts, Mamata comes from a poor family. Despite constraints, she pursued her education and performed at the international level to prove her mettle.
Along with Mamata’s family members, DC Subhodh Yadav, mayor Rajani Dugganna among others were present to receive her.
