Doha, Dec 27: ACC lifted the 4th Gulf Lights Cricket Trophy 2021 title with a thrilling eight wickets win over Ceylon Warriors at the Losail Cricket Complex.
At the prize distribution ceremony AnR Sanaullah - managing partner of Gulf Lights Electical Engineering WLL handed over the trophies to the winners and runners up. The prize distribution ceremony was attended by supporters and well wishers. Over 150 prizes were given away to various players in the tournament.
The prize distribution attended by Babu Rajan, president of Indian Cultural Centre ended with complimentary refreshments and a lucky draw for spectators.
ACC won the toss and put in Ceylon Warriors to bat. Unfortunately due to various reasons only 9 players were available for Ceylon Warriors. Openers Sana and Pragash started cautiously putting up 33 runs in the first five overs. Pragash was out caught by Sajid off the bowling of Aftab for seven runs. Sana went to score 28 runs and was caught by Salman off Munsir for 28 runs. Captain Shiv Shankar impressed with a quick-fire 53 runs off 35 balls and was caught by Sarfaraz off Azmat. Finally Ceylon Warriors were all out for 118 runs in 18.4 overs.
Munsir claimed three wickets, Azmat two wickets while Munna and Aftab (Appu) took a wicket each.
In reply, ACC lost opener Feroz for a duck caught by Shiv Shankar off Pragash in the very first over. However other opener Munna single handed carried the innings through remaining not out on 63 runs off 38 balls with four sixes and five boundaries. Sajid contributed 26 runs with three boundaries while Sarfaraz was not out on 21 runs with a six and a boundary. ACC easily scored 119 runs for two wickets in 14.5 overs.
For Ceylon Warriors Pragash and Rizvi took a wicket each.
Munna of ACC was adjudged as man of the finals.

Sponsor Sanaullah was impressed with Buddika of Wellon CC’s performance of scoring 157 runs in 53 balls in a league match as a record and announced a Cash prize of Qr 500/- for him. Also for the man of the finals - Munna of ACC another Cash prize of Qr 500/-. Further he announced that in the next tournament 31ST CDC Cricket tournament if anyone broke Buddika’s record of 157 runs, he would give Cash Qr 1,000/- as a special prize.
