Bangalore Tops India Bribery Chart

Bangalore Tops India Bribery Chart

Bangalore, Dec 3 (TOI): There's nothing hide-and-seek about paying or accepting bribes in government offices, and if you are in a sub-registrar's den, be ready to part with a fat service charge. In Bangalore, this is where the biggest bribes are paid, whether to register property or get a marriage certificate. Their monthly income from bribes is easily a cool Rs 3 crore.

In fact, Bangalore has sped ahead of other cities to top the chart and leads the tally on the website (www.ipaidabribe.com) with 259 bribe reports about the revenue department alone. It scores from among 200 cities, followed by Mumbai, Chennai and Pune.

The High Court's searing condemnation on Wednesday seals its reputation, that "all land acquisition officers and sub-registrars are corrupt. Barring a few exceptions, all special DCs in Bangalore are corrupt to the core''. There are 33 sub-registrar offices across Bangalore Urban limits.

BANGALORE IS GOING BACK NOWADAYS.. THE GROWTH RATE WAS VERY HIGH BEFORE , NOW ITS GOING DOWN...I AND NOW BANGALORE HAS GOT TAG OF BRIBERY TOO.
SHAME ON OUR GOVT FOR ACHEIVING BRIBERY CHART TOP POSITION..

Corruptions bribes are legal in karnataka as per Mr Yeddiurappa, so nothing big deal for bangalore to be No. 1 in india for this bribe category.

The garden city of India got the
top rank as the most corrupted
    city in India.

Why the government has to pay a
    regular salary to the government
employees, they can make plenty of money through bribery.

    Let the government salary be
    given to social programmes like
    feeding programmes, more schools
    etc.

    Congratulations to Bangalore which
is now claim as the third largest
city in India, and one of the fastest
    growing cities of India. (Chennai,
    Bangalore and Ahemedbad).

    Great accomplishments.

I do not think this has anything to do with Bangalore specially. Corruption and bribing are so common in every nook and corner of India that no city or town is behind others. The online reports only show the percentage of people who registered their bribery stories online and obviously Bangalore being the home for most IT guys tops the list with 259 bribes reported. In fact, there should have been few hundreds of thousands of reports from each city with a population of a million. So, just don't write that Bangalore tops corruption. Rather it's apt to say that more people in Bangalore are reporting their bribery stories online.

    What next....?

Everyday new addition to the list of achievements in karnataka......

hardly few months enough to prove ourself that we wont stand behind......

If any minister of any state or central caught held by scandal, we will defeat them by producing more corrupt minister.........

We already proved number one in India in bribery within no time..

With small contribution of karnataka (All other state together cant contribute 10% of karnataka)we will make proud India by bringing 1st place in the world in bribery.......

Can u Imagine any one can do in short span of time.

Karnataka's name is in the news for wrong reasons almost daily now. I have never seen this happen several decades. What does this say?? Is it not a product of BJP rule?

The Head of BJP in Karnataka our great Sreeman Yeddiji has proven to be a hardcore CORRUPT man so, naturally, it will filter down to every government office in Karnataka. What a mess? I think we should blame ourselves and be vigilant when the next election comes up.

Corruption, Cheating, bribery, lack of ethical stan may be one of the biggest reason why well educated young men and women leave the shore of our mother India!

Please remember that we the citizens of the state who are giving bribe, lets first correct ourselves and then blame the person who receives it. What stops us from not giving bribe.. Its our mindset that has to change first... If we all decide that we wont give bribe then things can change... Of course I dont support the present situation where are leaders are corrupt...

The low ranked constables and Govt clerks are openly following the example of our own highly corrupt Yeddys, Reddys and Kattas with small money as bribe. The high ranked police officials and Govt Babus are as good as the Yeddys, Reddys and Kattas and they have high stakes in the undercuts as well they are hand in gloves with corrupt dirty politicians.
