Dubai, Dec 3: A pleasant day on 02nd December, 2010 saw ESPA (Emirates Surathkal Parishioners Association) members residing in the UAE come together as one family for a day long family get together at Zabeel Park, Dubai. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather they had a great time with so many exciting activities. This was an opportune occasion for all the members to spend time together away from their busy work schedule.
The day began at 10:00 am with a prayer led by Socia Saritha Pinto. What followed was action throughout the day starting with breakfast.
After the breakfast the participants with the coordination of Vineeth Cutinho were divided into 6 teams namely Surathkal Stars, Posody Panthers, Kulai Kings, Kana Killers, Katla Kids and Thadambail Tigers. Various fun filled games for children and adults were organized by Denzil Fernandes, Ashok D’Souza and Roydon Roche. Everyone actively participated in the games, and also took away some spot prizes. Judges namely Charles Aranha, William Sequeira and Valerian Dalmeida gave a fair decision at all the games that was appreciated by all the participants.
At 01:00 pm lunch was served. After the lunch an opportunity was provided for all the 6 group members to exhibit individual as well as group talents. Topics were given in advance for the groups to be prepared. The Surathkal Police Station, Surathkal Market were some of the themes enacted nicely by the participants. Plenty of prizes were given away during the popular Housie. Refreshments were served in between the games to energize the participants.
Prize distribution for the winners in various games was coordinated by Gilbert D'Souza and Wilson Crasta. The wonderfully organized fun-filled family picnic came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Denzil Fernandes. The enthusiasm, participation and cooperation of the participants truly made the day memorable for all. It was 05:30 pm when all the participants bid adieu to Zabeel Park with fond memories in their mind that would cherish forever.
All the committee members of ESPA headed by President Sunil Pinto exhibited fine team spirit as they gave a fantastic time for the Surathkal parishioners who came and enjoyed their holiday immensely. It is really creditable that within a month of ESPA being formed, they managed to organize a grand family day and have more plans in the future for the Surathkal parishioners.
