Mangaluru: Scouts Bhavans to come up in each taluks in state – P G R Sindhia

Mangaluru, Jan 1: “We are working to construct Scouts Bhavans in each taluks of the Karnataka state,” said Bharath Scouts and Guides state chief commissioner P G R Sindhia.

He was speaking in a discussion programme held by Dakshina Kannada district Karyaniratha Patrakartara Sangha at Mangaluru press club on Saturday January 1.

“A Scouts Bhavan will come up at Beltangady on the initiative of MLA Harish Poonja. The Scouts Bhavan at Mangaluru will be renovated. Several programmes have been taken up since Dr M Mohan Alva, president of Alva’s Foundation was elected commissioner of Indian Scouts and Guides. He is taking special initiative in the construction of Scouts Bhavan,” he said.

“Students who join Scouts and Guides are getting shaped into excellent personalities and becoming good citizens. One crore masks were distributed to the police department, education department and other departments during the Corona pandemic. More than 10,000 Rovers and Rangers have worked as warriors during Corona,” he said.

Bharath Scouts and Guides deputy international commissioner Madhusudan A S and state organizing commissioner M Prabhakar Bhat were present.

Patrakartara Sangha president Srinivas Nayak Indaje welcomed and gave an introduction. Executive committee member Pushparaj B N rendered vote of thanks. Bhasker Rai Katta compered the programme.
