Udupi, Jan 2: Kannada, Culture and Energy minister V Sunil Kumar directed officials that the district administration should provide all types of basic facilities for the devotees who arrive during the Paryaya programme and ensure that the programme is held in a systematic way.
He was speaking in a prelude meeting of Paryaya in zilla panchayat hall here on Sunday January 2.
"As devotees will throng to the event from outside of the state, ensure all types of basic facilities including drinking water, easy traffic movements, and maintain hygiene and cleanliness," he added.
He also said that the grant to provide all the basic facilities for the devotees will be released after discussing with the chief minister.
Appoint additional staff to maintain cleanliness. Deploy additional vehicles to dispose of the waste under the limits of Udupi City Municipal Council, the minister said.
Basic facilities including construction of additional toilets, arrangement of water and road repair work should be completed by January 10, he said.
He also directed the superintendent of police to make proper security arrangements during the programme.
The minister also added that the devotees who take part in the Paryaya programme should get vaccinated with two doses of vaccines. Everyone should strictly adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government, he said.
MLA Raghupati Bhat, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Coastal Development Authority president Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde, deputy commissioner M Kurma Rao, and others were present.
