Sullia, Dec 6: Bollywood actress, Juhi Chawla, visited Lord Subrahmanya Temple at Subrahmanya in the taluk on Sunday December 5 along with her husband, Jai Mehta, and offered services to the presiding deity. In addition to conducting the ‘Tulabhara’ services of her two children, Jahnavi and Arjun, she offered ‘Bandi Utsav’ service along with her husband, at the temple.

A decade ago, the couple had come to Subrahmanya to seek divine blessings to have offspring. They had then been guided by religious teacher, V S Nayak. It is gathered that Chawla’s present visit was aimed at performing religious vows undertaken during her previous visit here.

After arriving at Mangalore by a flight on Saturday, she moved to Subrahmanya by road and stayed in a lodge. The couple then observed fast as per the temple tenets and offered the above services on Sunday.

Speaking to the media persons, Juhi revealed that although she was a native of Ludhiana in Punjab, she got her education in Mumbai. She recollected that she shot to fame after being chosen ‘Famina Miss India’, and that her early movie, ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ with Amir Khan had brought her popularity. She said that of late, she has become busy with her family and hence, has confined herself to only a few films.

I praise Juhi for that she cares about her family. Even though rising to the fame, she considered family as first duty, than leaving the kids into maids hands.. Hats off to you Juhi and may you be successful always !!
