Kasargod, Jan 6: Two people were reportedly infected by Omicron virus in the district on Thursday January 6 raising the total number of people infected with it to three. The virus was found in the Trikaripur and Badiadka residents who arrived from abroad.
A Trikaripur resident reached his home town by flight. His wife who had arrived at the airport to accompany her husband at the airport is kept under observation.
Meanwhile, the virus was found in a 48-year-old man who arrived from Dubai on January 1. His samples were sent to the lab where he was tested positive for the virus. The department of health is gathering details of those who were in contact with them.
The infection was found earlier in a Madhur resident a few days ago. The health department is watching in view of increasing cases of the virus.
The number of corona cases in the district has crossed 100 again. The infection was found among 141 people on Thursday. While 33 have recovered, 469 are under treatment. 3,824 are under observation. Infection was confirmed in a total of 1,44,105 so far. As many as 1,42,364 among them are cured.
