Missionaries of Charity gets back FCRA licence

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): The Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity (MTMC) got back its Foreign Contribution Regulations Act (FCRA) licence again on Saturday.

Missionaries of Charity is a Kolkata based organisation which operates orphanages and shelters for the poor, sick, and destitute in India, its FCRA licence was not renewed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

On the occasion of Christmas, the MHA had refused to renew its FCRA licence. The MHA had reportedly found some adverse input following which it didn't renew the licence. The move of the MHA had led to a nation-wide controversy with Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condemning the move.

After losing its FCRA license the organisation was helpless to access foreign funds parked in over 250 accounts. To access the foreign funds of 250 accounts the organisation needed to revive its FCRA licence.

As of now the Centre has not made any statements in this respect.

According to sources, the MHA finally agreed to renew the licence after necessary documents were furnished with the concerned authorities.

Soon after it was restored, the TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev tweeted: "Service to mankind is the greatest service".

Derek O'Brien, another TMC MP took to twitter to criticise the Centre.

"The FCRA registration for Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity is back. The 'adverse inputs' harassed so many and then disappeared in two weeks. The POWER OF LOVE is stronger than the power of 56 inch," read his tweets.

He also shared a screen shot on the twitter regarding his tweet showing that licence was renewed.

Congress MP Karti Chidambaram has also attacked the Centre on Twitter following the renewal of the licence.

According to the information, a police complaint was lodged with Gujrat Police against one unit of the MTMC. It was a children home of MTMC and the complaint was against its director. It was alleged that a conversion racket was being run at the children home.

The present Government scared to the minorities faith and service providing to the poor people. They think that because of the service people will convert or get the better education from institutes and becoming self reliable people. So no more Andhbhakts to follow them. That's why Government is playing so many games to resist. But God is there he will continue his holy Spirit to pour on the people who serve and assist poor people. Government power is only for few years but God's power is forever .

God is watching us who is right or who is wrong. He will bless all the people and convert the minds bad to good. So there will be peace, love and happiness in the world. But very small number of people sometimes going against his will but still God loves them and he will forgive their acts. So that they change themselves to follow as per God.

The Power of Mother Mary through Jesus Christ showered on the authority. The Holy Spirit guided all the officials to do the right thing. I prayed for all and God Almighty is shown his mercy on the poor people. We need to Love everyone. Help the needy, feed the hungry, give clothes to the naked, and shelter to the poor. If any religious group is doing this job let us pray for them and help them. May God Almighty bless Amith Shah and Modi and give them knowledge & wisdom to do all the good for every Indian, Amen.

What will happen if all foreign countries block all Bank accounts and never allow them to send money to India? We cannot have lakhs and lakhs of Indians going abroad seeking greener pasture and India attempting to block money coming from the same countries for aid to India as charity. We cannot pick and choose. Can we feed and take care of all Indians if they return to India seeking jobs? We can use them for our political rallies, of course.
