Mangalore: Rotary, Rotaract Clubs to Jointly Hold ‘Orphanage Olympics – 2010’

Mangalore, Dec 10: The Rotary club of Mangalore central in association with Rotaract Club of city will initiate a social event ‘Orphanage Olympics – 2010’.

The event will be held at Canara Girls High School premises, Dongerkery here on Sunday December 12 between 9 am to 7 pm, informed Rtn Herman Pereira, president, Rotary Club of Mangalore Central at a press conference held on Friday December 10.
 
The programme will be inaugurated by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. The prizes to the winners will be distributed by Rotary district governor H L Ravi during the valedictory ceremony.
 
Over 100 volunteers from different educational institutions and NGOs will take part in the event. The event is being held at an expenditure of about three lacs.
 
There will be different sports activities in the morning session and cultural competitions in the afternoon.
 
Rtn Manjunath Revankar, secretary, Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rtn Dr Devadas Pai, chairman, Orphanage Olympics 2010 were present at the press meet.

Swami Sharadhanand Sevashram, Balmatta, Ishwarananda Sevashram, Kankanady, St. Joseph’s Prashant Nivas, Jeppu, St Antony’s Ashram, Jeppu, Bala Samrakshana Kendra, Kuthar Padau, Abhaya Bala Mandira, Assaigoli, Aloysian Boys Home, Kotekar, Zeenath Baksh Yateemkhana, Bunder, Bala Yesu Nilaya, Konchady, Stella Marys Convent, Kotekar and De Mercede Orphanage, Derlakatte.
