Udupi: Annual Feast of St Anne Parish, Thottam Celebrated

Udupi, Dec 10: The annual feast of St Anne Parish, Thottam, near here, was celebrated on Tuesday December 7 and Wednesday December 8.


 

Fr Dancy Martis, Capuchin celebrated the festal Eucharistic Mass on Tuesday night. In his homily, he said that we are all living in a uncertain world where no one is aware about what is going to happen in the future. Only God’s word is permanent in the world. We have to look were our family is build on, he added.

Several priests from the deanery and neighbouring parishes also joined in the Eucharistic celebrations along with Fr Fredrick D’Souza, and Fr Dancy Martis.

The Holy Mass concluded with adoration to the Holy Sacrament. A large number of parishioners attended the Holy Mass. An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the Holy Mass on the parish grounds. 

Fr Fredrick D’Souza, parish priest St Anne parish presented the blessed candles to John Fernandes and family, the main sponsors of festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday.  

Fr Baptist Menezes Episcopal Vicar of Udupi presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday morning, along with Fr Mathew P Vas, vicar of Udupi deanery, Fr Fredrick D’Souza Parish Priest St. Anne parish and many priests from the deanery and neighbouring parishes. 

Fr Baptist Menezes said in his homily stressed that the youth should mainly hear God’s words and be devoted to him. Thottam parish priest Fr Fredrick proposed the vote of thanks.

Nice to see my cousins Mark, Olivia, Rockey,Richard, Anthony, Rita,Helen,Olinda and Pramila. Good to see the whole family in pictures. Sweet memories of childhood days spent in Thottam parish.
