Battle for UP: More resignations roll out in BJP

Lucknow, Jan 11 (IANS): Resignations are rolling out in the BJP in Uttar Pradesh with an alarming frequency, days ahead of the state goes to the polls in seven phases between February 10 and March 7.

After Swami Prasad Maurya and Roshan Lal Varma, yet another BJP MLA - Brijesh Prajapati from Tindwari in Banda - has said that he has submitted his resignation from the saffron party.

Varma, Prajapati and a host of other OBC MLAs met Swami Prasad Maurya to discuss the political situation.

The MLAs, including Bhagwati Sharan Sagar from Bilhaur, said that the Yogi Adityanath government is not catering to the interests of the farmers, OBCs and other weaker sections of the society.

"We will go wherever Swami Prasad Maurya goes. We came with him from BSP to BJP and our future journey will continue with him," said the legislators.

Another minister, Dharam Singh Saini, is also believed to be ready to quit, but there is no confirmation of the same yet.

BJP had won a humongous tally of 325 out of 403 seats in UP. So 4 MLAs becoming ex- MLAs of the World's largest Democratic Party is nothing big. Its similar to the COVID positive percentage when compared to India's population. Party will defy these hoppers and win resounding victory! Jai Shree Ram!!

Anata, What a sorry state of affairs. B.J.P was given 2 chances, But they blew it Big time. The economy has spiraled to a bottomless pit. It all started with the Demonetisation, which only served the ruling party, only B.J.P took advantage of it. After that, it has been one blooper after another. Then the selling of assets one after another. Rafael was another complete disaster and being rewarded to Modi's cronies and how his cronies have excelled and become the richest in Asia . Finally the communal religious fanatics running amock has given a very bad rap in the western world. This is the reason for the downfall. How art the Mighty Fallen.

Downfall of BJP has started. There should be 100% BJP Mukht India. BJP's only achievement is creation of rift among religions and gain votes. Hope by now people have understood the same. Look at the GDP, unemployment, inflation etc. BJP's worst governance is exposed. Time for people to vote out BJP for stability of India. Bangladesh GDP is better than India now. Such a worst Indian economy under Modi and his cronies.

You are so very right Reshmi, but likes of you are very few. Sensible voters got to analyze the situation not with your heart but your brains. Unfortunately BJP has effectively made sure, none of the voters have brains while voting by using 3 things - conversion card, Hindutva and vote booth capture! You too might have had voted BJP like me in the first round, as I wanted a change. I regretted it within the first 6 months, looking at the oncoming rot from this party.
