Mangalore, Dec 14: Through an order issued on Monday December 13, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Subodh Yadav, has dismissed S R Rajagopal, second division assistant working in B branch of the local taluk office, from services. Rajagopal has been facing charges of embezzling funds, which actually were due to be paid to widows.

After charges against the said official about misusing of funds sanctioned by the government under the National Family Security Scheme surfaced, an internal inquiry had been ordered. The inquiry has found that the charges against the official are true. The employee was under suspension since the last some months.  Mangalore assistant commissioner had conducted the inquiry, and the above step was taken in tune with the inquiry report.

“This is the pinnacle of criminal act and misconduct, in which losses were inflicted on the government, bank, and poor beneficiaries. Widows, who sought succour from the government, were the ones who suffered because of this criminal act. As such, the employee concerned has been found to be eligible for severe punishment. In exercise of powers vested with the undersigned under Karnataka Civil Services (Regulation of Transfers and Appeals) Rules 1957, the employee found guilty has been dismissed from services,” the order stated.
