Mangalore: CODP Holds Industrial Motivation Campaign

Media Release

Mangalore, Dec 15: The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Mangalore Unit, in association with Bandhavya and Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP) Mangalore organized a programme on Industrial Motivation Campaign at CODP-ISD here, recently.

Fr Onil D’Souza, director CODP; K Socrates, deputy director of Development Institute Mangalore; assistant directors Sundar Sherigar and Y B Raveendran were present on the dais.

In his inaugural address, K Socrates elicited the participants to take up self-employment and lead a self-respecting and dignified life. In today’s electronic era, a person merely having a degree, e-mail id and mobile among others considers himself to belong to a high strata of society. However, in order to gain self respect, we need to start small and take up small ventures or start self-employment projects which make us self reliant, thereby drawing respect from others, he said.

Fr Onil D’Souza, president of the programme, informed the gathering that over 1,000 women who are members of various SHGs formed by CODP and Bandhavya in Kasargod, have already started petty enterprises and are leading a successful life.

It is time to encourage the members of SHGs in other areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to take up small enterprises. “The keen interest shown by Raveendran and his constant encouragement prompted us to organize this programme. Hence those who have attended should get the benefits of this programme” he said.

Sundar Sherigar welcomed the gathering and Raveendran proposed the vote of thanks. Other topics that were dealt with are Entrepreneurship Motivation by Sundar Sherigar, Schemes of State Government
by Balakrishna Bhat, Bank Loans and Facilities by Udaya Kumar Holla, manager of Syndicate Lead Bank and Successful Enterprises by Murali, Indian Computer Academy.
