Mangalore, Dec 15: “More than anything else, unity of Hindus is of utmost importance now. Hindu society should get its act together and build itself to its full potential on the basis of country’s culture and life values. Our power will further be boosted, if we are able to shed the caste and creed differences,” said south province Karyavaha of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

He was speaking after inaugurating the office of the Hindu Samajotsava opened near Bunts Hostel Circle in the city on Tuesday December 14. Bhat said that the Hindus have got some success in their endeavours in the form of the Allahabad High Court judgment in Ayodhya dispute. However, he felt that they have suffered setback in the form of division of the land, as order by the High Court, in Ayodhya.

He expressed concern about the increasing incidents of religious conversions, naxalism, incidents of Hindu girls eloping with others, and terrorism, which have been dividing the Hindu society. He stressed that his organization does not oppose building of mosques anywhere in the country, but expressed opposition to building of mosque in the name of Babar, whom he termed of an illegal immigrant.

He reiterated that Hindu Samajotsavas are part of a national programme, and that its critics are wrong in terming them as programmes aimed at winning votes for certain political outfits.

Kolya Sri Ramananda Swamiji, who delivered benedictory address on the occasion, said that all the Hindus want a grand Ram Mandir to come up at Ayodhya.

Vishwa Hindu Parishat leader, Prof M B Puranik, delivered the introductory address. District president of Hanumat Shakti Jagaran Samiti, Ravishankar Mijar, and treasurer, Manohar Tulajaram, were present.

Jitendra Kottary welcomed. Jagadish Shenava proposed the vote of thanks. Shivanand Mendon compered the programme.

The office has been opened to look after arrangements in connection with the Hindu Samajotsava being organized at the central Maidan in the city on January 2 under the aegis of Hanumat Shakti Jagarana Samiti.
