Mangaluru Jan 20: City-based Vikeesha Rao is shining in Malayalam web series.

Vikeesha Rao hails from Mangaluru born to B Thrivikram Rao and Shyamala P and sibling Vineesha Rao. She did her schooling in Kumble little Lilli Higher Secondary School. Vikeesha studied BSc in Microbiology and LLB in St Agnes College and SDM Law College respectively.

Before stepping into the web series, she was working in the corporate world for five years in Bengaluru. She received modeling offers in Cochin and acting offers in web series. Apart from web series, Vikeesha has done brand shoot for Meralda jewels.

She made her debut in a web series titled ‘Dharbeguje’ in the premier Padmini channel in YouTube. Vikeesha was seen in web series titled ‘Papante Priyapetta Padmini’ and 'Unnam Marannu Thenni Parannu' which was released in premier Padmini channel YouTube and S Cube Films channel in YouTube respectively.

Four episodes of 'Papante Priyapetta Padmini' and two episodes of 'Unnam Marannu Thenni Parannu' are released.

She was seen in ‘Before They Met’ web series which is a prequel to ‘Unnam Marannu Thenni Parannu' where she is playing a role of a dentist in a character named Ritu. It is based on lives of Ritu and Siju where they marry after falling in love. The story revolves around the problems they face and resolve it. The making of the web series is very enriching.

‘Unnam Marannu Thenni Parannu' web series is directed by Pramod Mohan, produced by Shenuga Shegna Sherga and will stream in S Cube Films YouTube channel.

Speaking to daijiworld, Vikeesha says, "During the pandemic, I got very active on Instagram posting my portrait pictures. I got contacted my professional photographers and certain boutiques, did few shoots with them, and then ultimately I did a few brand shoots.

"'Dharbeguje' was my first web series where I played a Muslim bride, Fathima. The experience was surreal. Being in front of the camera for the first time was exciting. Playing a shy character was a bit challenging.

"'Pappante Priyapetta Padmini' was my second web series which falls in the dark humor genre. My director Anoop Bahuleyan helped me a lot in both the web series, along with actors Nobi Marcose, Kutty Akhil, Akhil Kavalayoor and Shaji. It helps your acting skills as they are always there to help.

"In 'Unnam Marannu Thenni Parannu' I am playing a dentist's role directed by Pramod and produced by S Cube Films. Malayalam is not my first language and I managed to learn it and I hope that I have done justice to the role.

"My parents are always supportive. I am lucky like that they have always encouraged me to do what I want," concludes Vikeesha.
