Mangalore, Dec 16: “Ration shops should function from 8 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. Detailed informative boards displaying price of every item should be displayed and there should not be any complaint about the weighing machine,” said DC Subodh Yadav at a progress review meet held at the DC’s office here on Wednesday December 15.
He directed the deputy director of food and civil supply department to submit the ration awareness committee’s report in two months’ time.
The senior assistant director of factories and boilers, speaking on the occasion, said that strong conditions should be implemented by cashew nut processing plant units to procure only standard quality boilers.
The DC said that any unlawful activities that are found, irrespective of the concerned department, should be brought to the notice of the district administration.
He also directed the environmental department, PWD and other officers to co-ordinate so as to avert any problems in smooth functioning.
The home guard commandant brought to the notice of the DC that the home guard staff was not paid salary for the past six months. The health and welfare officers submitted a comprehensive report about waste disposal management in district hospitals.
District level officers of all the departments were present at the meeting.
DC in-charge Prabhakar Sharma, DCP Mutthuraya, and CEO P Shivashankar were also present.
